The “Power of the Pyramid” will ensure the Can Am Equine Emporium is an exciting 3 days of action and education along with over 100,000 square feet of shopping for 2012. Over 90 FREE clinics with admission will educate all levels of the horse world at the New Western Fair District in London. The many clinicians will feature the "pyramid of training" young horse and rider to perform at their disciplines. Jessica Phoenix (Pan-Am Gold Medalist) - Eventing - Barbara Mitchell -Pyramid of progression of training a young horse to jump - Gary Yagdijian -The sport of Reining - Lori Fackler - will conduct a barrel racing clinic - Rod Yost and Mark Huver will team up to teach the Pyramid of working your young horse after the initial 30 days of training when you first get it home - Dr. Esco Buff (world renown Farrier) will clinic on Laminitis and Balancing your horse with many other clinicians. This will ensure that the Can Am is the most comprehensive weekend for the horse person. The Great Can Am Tack and Trailer Sale will feature over 100,000 sq. Ft. of shopping with Canada’s largest trailer brand selection at one location. Home Hardware will feature the New “Horsepower” show featuring the breeds of the Can Am. AMBER MARSHALL

Born and raised in London, Ontario, Amber Marshall is now in her fourth full season of portraying Amy Fleming on Heartland. She trained at Lester B. Pearson School for the Arts, as well as The Original Kids Theatre Company in London and has appeared in numerous film and television productions, displaying a remarkable range and vulnerability. Amber was nominated for a Los Angeles based 'Young Artist Award,' for her work as the title character in The Elizabeth Smart Story, a movie-of-the-week based on the true story of the 2002 kidnapping of Utah teenager Elizabeth Smart. A strong actress, she has had regular roles in television series such as Super Rupert, The Power Strikers and Dark Oracle, and has guest appeared on different series, including Twice in a Lifetime and Doc. Watch for "Christmas Shoes" a made for TV movie which is becoming a Christmas classic! Did you know "Heartland" has also produced a Christmas TV movie? It will be airing December 12th, and then again on Christmas day. A former veterinary assistant who is passionate about all animals, Amber has been around horses as long as she can remember. She has been riding since a very young age and says that the two things she loves the most - acting and horses - have come together to create this dream role of Amy on the Heartland series. PARADE OF BREEDS

This is an informational, entertaining demonstration of the numerous breeds in Canada. All horses MUST be under full control at all times. You are representing your breed, please dress appropriately. It is strongly recommended that all participants are able to handle and control their horses during applause. Each presentation will be about 3 minutes in length.

SALUTE THE BREEDS

This is a brief introduction to the equine breeds in Canada. It will be a prelude to the Home Hardware Extravaganza Show. All horses MUST be walked in and under full control at all times (no riding or driving). You are representing your breed, please dress appropriately. It is strongly recommended that all participants are able to handle and control their horses during the applause. Take into consideration that other horses will be in the arena as well.

As we prepare for the 2012 Can-Am Equine Emporium we are pleased that our present retail space appears to be on track to be in a sold out position. To assure our commitment of unveiling new products at our show, we will be expanding in many new directions for 2012. Our survey results tell us that Shopping is the “number 1” reason people attend our show and it is our commitment to bring new products to our show. We will be contacting you in the next few weeks as we want to honour the requirements of you our existing customers before we commit to new vendors.

Great Can Am Trailer: Truck and Tractor Sale

The Can Am Trailer Show has become Canada's leading trailer sale and we will honour the previous space that current trailer dealers have enjoyed inside. We will provide expansion with the outside trailer area to display additional trailers on site. This outside display area will allow dealers to bring more trailers for display on site. New expansion will be provided outside to expand our truck and tractor sales. Also outside there will be locations for large machinery and implements that can be displayed at a very reasonable price.

New Lifestyle Farm and Home Designs and Environment Show

The front foyer will be expanded to show Lifestyle Farm and Home products. This will give customers an opportunity for Home furnishings and Farm design products.

New Pricing Structure

This New expansion allows us to offer a lower rate on our pricing structure. It will be the most economical pricing for a show of our size available. It is designed to still allow small unique vendors with only a few products to introduce them at an affordable price. The New balanced pricing is designed to be fair to all retailers based on their size requirements.

Jessica Phoenix - Pan Am Gold Medalist, Eventing

For Jessica’s first birthday, she received a pony and has never looked back. Rising through the ranks of the provincial Junior/Young Rider program, Jessica was first named to the 2006 Canadian Eventing Team List with Exploring, a horse she purchased as a four year old. The pair represented Canada at the 2007 Pan American Games, placing 12th overall and, in 2008, enjoyed an impressive third place finish at the CCI 3* Jersey Fresh Three Day Event. In 2009 Jessica campaigned two horses at the advanced three star level culminating with finishes at the CCI 3* Blenheim Three Day Event in Great Britain. In 2010 Jessica enjoyed a third place finish with Exponential at the CCI3* Bromont Three Day Event, and competed at the World Equestrian Games. Highlights of 2011 included a top ten finish at Rolex, 35th place at Burghley, and winning Team silver and individual gold at the Pan American Games. Jessica earned her Business Administration degree from Durham College. Jessica and her husband, Joel Phoenix, welcomed their first child Jacob in March 2010.

Denise Lenz - Saddle Fitting

Denise Lenz has been with Schleese Saddlery Service- The Female Saddle Specialist since 2003, but has been associated with the principles of the company since its inception in 1986. Classically trained in dressage in both Europe and North America, Denise has over twenty years of experience working with internationally known trainers such as Jo Hinneman, Dietrich Von Hopfgarten, Bonnie Bonnello, Bodo Hangen, Nancy Smith, and Evi & Hans Pracht. She has extensive show experience in many disciplines including dressage, English, Western and Breed Shows. Denise has competed in Dressage on numerous horses from Training Level thru PSG with some career highlights including winning Reserve Basic Champion Western Canada, Champion Region 18 Arabian Sport Horse Division Training and 1st Level. Her current horse Liam, an Arabian gelding, is presently competing at 3rd level. Denise is a graduate of the Meredith Manor International Equestrian School, in Virginia with a Riding Master III certificate. She is a Schleese Certified Saddlefit Technician, with extensive training and experience in all aspects of fitting and adjusting saddles, as well as a working knowledge in human and equine anatomy and biomechanics - especially as these relate to saddle fit. She also attended the LA Olympics as Canadian Olympic Dressage Team Stable Manager, and has been a guest speaker at various trade shows, conventions and clinics.

Dr. Bernd Kretzschmar - Large Animal Surgeon

The London Equine Hospital is owned and operated by Dr. Bernd Kretzschmar. Following obtaining his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree, he went on to specialize in Surgery by completing an Internship in Large Animal Surgery, Medicine and Reproduction, followed by a Large Animal Surgery Residency. Dr. Kretzschmar has been involved with surgery since 1992. Dr. Kretzschmar has performed research to develop new techniques for repairing broken bones in newborn animals. His particular interest is in bone/joint related problems in race and performance horses in addition to Respiratory Surgery. Dr. Kretzschmar has performed thousands of surgical procedures at the London Equine Hospital on horses from Ontario, Michigan, New York, and Quebec. In addition he has been involved in presenting Continuing Education seminars for Veterinarians and Clients at conferences such as the AAEP, OVMA, and others.

LINDSAY GRICE - Coach, Judge, and Equine Behavior Lecturer

Coach, judge, and equine behavior lecturer Lindsay Grice has prepared horses and riders for wins at major horse shows in the US and Canada for over 20 years. Starting her career on the hunter circuit, she specializes now in the AQHA circuit.

Lindsay teaches Equine Behaviour for a University of Guelph course. In her popular clinics, she draws on the principles of equine psychology and sports psychology to bridge the communication gap between horses and riders and explains both the “hows” and “whys” of training and showing.

Lindsay is an Equine Canada judge and AQHA specialized judge, as well as a certified coach.

When asked what she loves about her job, Lindsay responds, “I love putting complex principles of riding into a language that riders can understand. I share with my students the keys I wish I’d known as a young trainer.”

Marc Huver has been training horses for many years and typically puts the first 60-90 days on a horse. Marc’s main goal is to teach each horse the basics allowing them to be used in any discipline or strictly for pleasure. He will focus on techniques and strategies you can use at home to pick up where your trainer left off.

Mike Hughes - Cribbing

Meet Mike Hughes. Mike has been training horses in California for the past 23 years concentrating mainly on problem/vice solving as well as training reiners. After an incident that took place where a horse ultimately died from colic brought on by cribbing, Mike set out to find a way to stop horses from cribbing. Cribbing by definition is " a stable vice in which the horse places its upper teeth on the edge of an object, arches its neck, inhales and often produces a grunt or belching sound. (“UCDAVIS School of Veterinary Medicine: The Book of Horses"). After countless hours of studying horses that crib, Mike started work on developing a program to stop this habit. The program is his two-step process defined in the 2 DVD set "Crib-FreeTM Training". Today there are over 70 horses that have successfully completed the Crib-Free training developed by Mike Hughes. No longer will you need crib collars or expensive surgery, or for that matter have to spend endless dollars repairing property damaged by a cribbing horse. No longer will you have to be the outcast of the barn because your horse cribs. No longer will you be turned away from a boarding facility because your horse cribs. There is now a solution.

Dr. R. Scott Hie graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1996, being accepted into the College after completing two years of undergraduate study in Animal Science at the University of Guelph. He has maintained a private human practice in Toronto since his graduation. In addition he completed the Canadian Animal Chiropractic Certification Program and continues to instruct at the program. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Getting started with a Heart Rate Monitor for Training. Me, You and Horses: A comparison of anatomy.

As Director of Equine Guelph, Gayle oversees the many programs offered by the program, including the multiple award-winning online education programs. She has been a part of the horse industry all of her life, and was riding a horse before she was walking. Her main area of focus while growing up was spending many weekends on the horse show circuit for both Arabians and Quarter Horses and working summers as a veterinary assistant for over 8 years including at the racetracks with the Commission veterinarian. Following her Honours Bachelors degree in kinesiology and biology at University of Western Ontario, she obtained her Bachelors of Education at Althouse College and then her Masters of Science at the University of Guelph, studying fluid and electrolyte balance, dehydration and heat stress in horses. She has been an assistant chef d’equipe with the Canadian endurance teams, twice at the World Equestrian Games in France and Spain, and the Pan Ams. She did extensive consulting with endurance competitors and team members on fitness, nutritional and electrolyte supplementation programs. Dr. Esco Buff - Farrier

Dr. Esco Buff was born in the East but was raised on the ranches of New Mexico. He was introduced to blacksmithing and farrier work through his association with the Boy Scouts of America while a staff member at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. Dr. Buff went to horseshoeing school at New Mexico State Farrier School under Mogen I. Rasmussen. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Masters in Science, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Business Administration. Dr. Buff also attended Parker Chiropractic School and is an American Farriers Association Certified Farrier. But, his real world education has come on the job. Dr. Buff has been trimming and shoeing horses since 1974. He is also a recognized leader in the field of Limb Length Disparity. Dr. Buff was presented the International Hoofcare Summit Outstanding Presentation Award in 2009 and was the Altech FEI World Equestrian Games Farrier in 2010. He was also made an inductee of the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame in 2011. He will host multiple seminars on the topics of Farriering and balancing your horse.

Lauren Bode - Interspecies Animal Communicator

Lauren Bode has always had a special affinity with animals. She grew up on a backcountry cattle ranch in South America with horses, the usual domestic pets and more exotic animals as her daily companions. Later as an international entrepreneur she travelled through five continents and for some years owned and operated her own zoo in Europe.
